PREDATOR BACKS UP PUBG SEA CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON 2

    MET Events, the leading esports event organizer in Asia, has teamed up once more with PUBG Corporation and well-known gaming hardware brand Predator to host one of biggest Southeast Asia PUBG esports tournament, PUBG SEA Championship Season 2: Bangkok.
    The event is set to kick off on June 29-30, 2019 at the Thailand Esports Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Joining last year’s winner, Divine Esports and Armory Gaming, are 14 teams from Thailand (4), Vietnam (4), Indonesia (3), Philippines (2), and Malaysia/Singapore (1). The teams will compete for the lion’s share of the 100,000 USD prize pool.

  • 2nd Place: $20,000
  • 3rd Place: $10,000
  • 4th Place: $5,000
  • 5th-6th Place: $3,000
  • 7th-8th Place: $2,000
  • 9th-11th Place: $1,000
  • 12th-16th Place: $400
    The best three teams emerging from the regional league will move on to the bigger MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic, where 300,000 USD plus an additional regional slot to the PUBG Global Championship 2019 are at stake.
    The Philippine qualifier will be held online on June 22-23, 2019. Gracing the qualifier finals, which will be held on the second day of the two-day event, is none other than the fifth-place of the last PUBG SEA Championship, ArkAngel. The top two (2) teams that will emerge from the qualifying rounds will earn the right to represent the country at the PUBG SEA Championship Season 2: Bangkok.

Essilor and GMA Kapuso Foundation provide 500 prescription glasses

In its commitment to provide better visual health for all, Essilor, the world leader for ophthalmic optics, reached out to Filipinos in need of vision correction at the annual Kapuso 20-20 Eye Project. Together with GMA Kapuso Foundation, Essilor provided 500 pairs of prescription glasses to underprivileged Filipinos at the GMA Kapuso Foundation booth. Apart from eye glasses, Essilor also gave free vision screening and eye check up. “Many Filipinos suffer from poor vision and it is our company’s commitment to help address this problem globally,” said Dr. Emelita Roleda, General Manager of Essilor Philippines. “That’s why we are very pleased to be part of outreach programs like this where we can help Filipinos see better, raise awareness on the importance of having healthy vision and emphasize the urgency of having your vision corrected.” The event, which was held at the GMA Kapuso headquarters, was done in celebration of Sight Saving month.
