Amway Philippines Named as The Best Workplace in The Country

Amway Philippines has been hailed as the top workplace in the country in 2022 by Best Places to Work, a prestigious international certification program that’s considered as the “Platinum Standard” in identifying and recognizing top workplaces around the world.

According to Best Places to Work, Amway Philippines—the local affiliate of Amway, a leading entrepreneur-led health and wellness company and the number 1 direct-selling company in the world—ensures that their “employees are happy, healthy, and enjoy coming to work”. In fact, Amway also emerged as the program’s fifth best place to work in the world in 2022 for “demonstrating excellence in the workplace by creating differentiated employee experiences and inclusive cultures that lead to stronger, more sustainable business results”.

The international organization pointed out that despite the global challenges of increasing employee turnover and declining engagement level, the average level of engagement of the Amway Philippines and the seven other top employers in the Philippines is at 84%.

“This achievement not only demonstrates the ongoing commitment of those employers to building and sustaining an open and transparent work environment, but also their efforts in keeping business engagement firmly rooted in trust, ethics, and behaviors,” Best Places to Work underlined.

To determine the top workplaces in the Philippines for the year, Best Places to Work deployed a methodology that aims to understand how well organizations engaged their employees and demonstrated best human resources or HR practices. Every year in Philippines, the program also partners with over 50 organizations across different industries to help them measure, benchmark, and improve their HR practices and use data-driven insights to add value, enhance agility, and increase organizational effectiveness.

“This recognition from no less than a prestigious international body is an affirmation of Amway Philippines’ longstanding commitment to our employees’ overall wellbeing. We believe that organizations where employees feel valued can provide the best level of service to their customers and stakeholders,” said Leni Olmedo, the Country Manager of Amway Philippines.

“This belief is founded on The Founders’ Fundamentals and Values which are deeply embedded in our corporate culture globally and remain unchanged since the company’s inception in 1959. These values of partnership, integrity, achievement, personal worth, personal responsibility, and free enterprise have guided decision-making at all levels, and for this reason, there is a great sense of belongingness and cohesiveness within the organization. This achievement will further inspire us to work harder to sustain and strengthen our employee engagement and workplace culture.”

Scientific fact: Women are more attracted to men with facial hair

Science says it. Men with facial hair are more attractive. A study in the 70s and two more recent ones conducted by Neave and Shields in 2008 and Dixson and Brooks in 2013 all came up with the same conclusion: Most women find men with a stubble or a five-o’clock shadow very, very attractive.   Although the women’s perception of male attractiveness changed according to the amount and length of men’s facial hair, most women in the study found men with a moderate amount of facial hair to be the most attractive. Some women did prefer men with no facial hair, but to the majority, men with no facial hair were not very attractive and seemed the least likely romantic partners. Women perceived full bearded men to be aggressive, more mature and a bit too much to handle.
